TGM
A family firm specialising in commercial roof maintenance is returning to its Northallerton roots with ambitious plans for growth.
TGM started with a single contract in 1997 when it was run by husband-and-wife partnership Keith and Sue Ellis, from their original premises in the town.
The duo quickly established a flawless reputation in the sector and by the late nineties, they were spreading their operation nationwide, winning a series of contracts with globally recognised brands.
TGM moved to new premises outside the town for a spell but have now decided the time is right to return, announcing the opening of a new head office in Gibraltar House, underlining a close affinity with the market town they call home.
Now under the leadership of husband-and-wife team Samantha and Clark Williams, the firm has big plans.
Managing Director Samantha Williams - daughter of TGM's founder - says success has been down to "an unwavering client-first approach".
"Our history is a testament to the hard work and expertise of our dedicated team," she said. "With a legacy of quality and reliability, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards in everything we do."
The firm specialises in roof maintenance and repairs for commercial clients from Aberdeen to Torquay, generating an average of 350 work orders a month, growing a £3m turnover.
They have 15 office staff at the new HQ - with plans to expand - and there are just under 20 further workers in the field, carrying out a variety of specialist roofing and guttering work.
Business Development Director Clark Williams has returned to TGM with big plans after a successful 10-year spell working elsewhere.
He said: "It was important to us to come back to Northallerton, it's the place the company calls home.
"The founders of the company, Keith and Sue live here, as do Samantha and I, so we have a real affinity with the place.
"Most of our staff are from the town and it has great rail links, which is how many of our clients come here to meet us."
TGM services includes reactive maintenance, where TGM engineers are first responders to urgent roof problems, providing first-time fixes and on-site tracking to safeguard buildings.
They also provide fall protection systems across the UK, including fixed ladders, removable anchors, flexible anchor lines, rigid rail anchors, and friction-based anchor systems, always adhering to the highest safety standards.
TGM was the first company to maintain specialist siphonic roof drainage systems, now supported by many others, and is a proud member of the Siphonic Roof Drainage Association.
Looking to the future, TGM has ambitious plans for business growth and innovation, particularly in the areas of roof maintenance and ground drainage.
The company says it recognises the importance of staying ahead of industry trends and continuously improving its service offerings to meet the evolving needs of its clients.
It also has plans to invest in cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices to ensure the longevity and durability of roofing systems.
Clark said: "By adopting forward-thinking approaches, we aim to set new standards in the industry and provide clients with the highest level of service."
In addition to roof maintenance, TGM is also focusing on ground drainage maintenance, preventing water damage and ensuring the long-term functionality of properties.
Clark added that TGM plans to double its size in the next five years.
"We've been doing this for 30 years and we're very good at doing what we do, we have a lot of loyalty having retained a lot of clients, we've nicely and steadily built on that, year on year.
"The plan is to double the size of the company in our five-year plan, that's the aim. The ambitions are serious and we're here to see them through.
"We have a new website which is already evolving and driving new clients through the door, our sales and marketing approach is happening very nicely.
"We're in discussions with companies which are providing us with some exciting possibilities."
Samantha Williams said: "As a second-generation family-run firm, we feel rooted in the values that grew the company in the first place but we're looking ahead to an exciting period of expansion.
"As TGM continues to grow and evolve, the company remains dedicated to its core values of quality, reliability, and client satisfaction and the move to Gibraltar House marks a new chapter in our journey.
"It promises exciting opportunities for expansion and innovation. With a strong foundation built on nearly three decades of excellence, TGM is well-positioned to lead the way in the specialist service industry for many years to come."
