Light rain and snowfall expected as westerly winds sweep across Nepal

KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported a partial influence of westerly winds and local winds across the country. As a result, the weather today is expected to be partly cloudy to clear nationwide.

In the afternoon, the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces will experience partly cloudy to clear skies, while the weather will remain mostly clear in other regions.

There is a chance of light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in one or two places within the hilly areas of Koshi Province. Additionally, light snowfall may occur at one or two locations in the high hilly and mountainous areas.

During the night, the weather across the country is expected to remain partly cloudy to clear.

In the next 24 hours, similar weather patterns are anticipated, including the possibility of light rain with thunder and lightning and light snowfall in high-altitude areas. The department has advised the public to exercise caution as the weather conditions may impact daily life, agriculture, health, roads, and aviation.
